Dot 'n' Beanie RIP

It seemed to be closed for nearly a year, but in Cleveland, you can never tell: things that look long gone are still in business, even thriving, while things that seem open are quite closed. The recent disappearance of Dot 'n' Beanie's signage suggests that it's no longer operating. The East 55th Street--St. Clair Avenue area is undergoing a small makeover, so perhaps something new will occupy the space. These photographs from February 2013.

Levi Scofield House Redux

Abandoned but still imposing mansion on Mapleside Road, on a bluff overlooking the Baldwin Water Plant to the northwest. The dog in the second photo is one of three yard dogs fenced nearby who were not at all pleased at my trespass. Photographed with a Holga two years ago, from a more conventional point of view. 03-06-13.
